Which interface for connecting to an Ultrium 448 tape autoloader

Hello Everybody

I have an ultrium 448 tape autoloader whithout the SCSI data cable and the HBA. According to the documentation i downloaded from HP's web site the preferred interface for connecting it to my server is SCSI.
I also noticed at the back of the device that there was an RJ45 port and a USB port.
I would like to know if these ports (USB and RJ45) can be used in replacement of the standard SCSI interface for backing up data using HP data protector.
In case USB can be used whats the reference of the USB cable to use and how reliable is it?

you cannot use ethernet and USB ports for sending data
the ethernet port (RJ45) is for management
the USB port is for local services, like downloading traces and support ticket.
You need to buy a scsi HBA and insert it in your Server in order to use the autoloader

This is what is suspected but i needed confirmation from the community. I knew for the RJ45 port but not for the USB.
Thanks a lot
