Windows Hangs with Ultrium 448 SAS and SC44Ge

I have a DL380 G5 with a SC44Ge HBA added. If i connect my Ultrium 448 SAS to the SC44Ge (turned on or off) Windows 2003 server console hangs at "Applying Computer Settings".
The servers seems to be seems to work as a file and print server without a problem.

Any idea what i have done wrong?

Hello. We purchase ML350G5 +
416096-B21 HP SC44Ge SAS Host Bus Adapter +
HP StorageWorks Ultrium 448 SAS (internal)

I connect tape drive to SC44Ge with cable from this Ultrium box. When i reboot server i don't see Tape drive in BIOS messages. In SAS Configuration Utility i don't see this drive too.

HP LTT 4.6 don't see tape drive. In Device Manager there is not Tape drive too.

Why ?

Re: Windows Hangs with Ultrium 448 SAS and SC44Ge

By default the SC44Ge only displays bootable devices on boot up.

This can be configured so that non-bootable devices, such as the tape drive will also display:

1. During POST, press F8 when prompted by the SC44Ge HBA
2. Select configuration option 2 to "Invoke SAS Configuration Utility"
3. At the LSI Logic Configuration Utility screen press 'ALT+N' to select "Global Properties"
4. Scroll down to "Boot Information Display Mode"
5. Use -/+ key to change option to "Display Adapter and All Devices"
6. Press Esc key to exit menu
7. Scroll down to select "Save Changes then Exit this Menu"
8. At next menu, press Esc key again and select "Exit the LSI Config Utility and Reboot├в

After completing these steps, the HBA will always display the necessary drive information during POST.
