c5683a - Win98 - MSBackup - Problems

I'm not able to use my streamer c5683a at win98/Ms-Backup.

The SCSI-Controler is a Adaptec 2940UW

In the Systemcontrol is everything allright.

The HP Libary and Tape Tools find the streamer allrady.

Where can help me?

Do you use compatible tapes? Try using new HP C5718A DDS4 tape. Run LTT tests with this new HP tape. Check drivers' page http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNum=C7497A&prodName=hp+surestore+dat40+tape+array+module&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=63891 .
Which errors backup gives you?
If LTT will tell you everything is ok then I think you have software issue

The MS-Backup (Win98) do not find my streamer. But win98 allready find the HP c5683a.

Please look at the gif-hardcopy.

D-J, sad news. Take a look at http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/document.jhtml?lc=en&docName=lpg51258 . It states "Win95/98 backup applet does not support DAT or DLT drives. A backup application will need to be installed, for example Tapeware. The backup application will contain the drivers that are needed"
