can't see tape drive on new solaris 8 (x86) install

hello,
I had to rebuild a proliant ml370 with internal scsi 12/24gb dat drive.
The tape drive was working before, but the system was messed up.
I did a clean re-install of solaris 8 on the proliant box and installed all the latest patches.
However, I can't see the tape drive.
It shows up in the bios as scsi ID 5, I didn't change anything on the hardware.

What can I do to make solaris see the tape drive?

Thanks,
Oskar

Re: can't see tape drive on new solaris 8 (x86) install

edit the file st.conf

uncomment the line where the SCSi ID 5 is mentioned.

Reboot your solaris box.

It should work

I see this list of scsi ID's. Is this what you mean? they are all uncommented, it was like this since installation.
