dat40e supported on k410

Hi, everyone.
I have a customer who wants to add a dat40e tape drive to their k410 server running 10.20 of HP-UX. The dat40e compatibility matrix doesn't appear to mention the k410 server.
Has anyone had any experience adding a dat40e to a k410? Should I recommend against it?

Thanks in advance!

Re: dat40e supported on k410

That is correct. DAT40 is an LVD device, and within K-server you can connect this drive only to SE addon HP-PB card. But the speed this card provides (5MB/s) may be not enough to keep drive streaming - and drive will be 'shoeshining' its heads with the tape. In addition you may need special adapter cable to connect LVD 68-pin device 50-pin SE SCSI controller.
To be honest I'm not sure if it will work - if LVD wide drive will be fine with narrow SE controller...
The best for K-servers are DDS3 (DAT24) and older
