dds4 on k580
Hi guys,
I've posted this thread before but im still having a problem with my dds4.I can see the dds 4 in the system but i'm getting an i/o error when trying to backup anything on a tape.It is claimaed with tape2 driver and i as i want to enable the stape driver using sam im getting this error:-
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Duplicate symbol "st_ats_enabled" in files conf.sam.o and /usr/conf/lib/libhp-ux.a(scsi_tape.o)
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Found 1 duplicate symbol(s)
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: (Warning) Linker features were used that may not be supported in future releases. The +vallcompatwarnings option can be used to display more details, and the ld(1) man page contains additional information. This warning can be suppressed with the +vnocompatwarnings option.
*** Error exit code -71
My os is 10.20

Again:
the tape2 driver is the only one for the SCSI adapter, but this driver *CANNOT* work with the DDS4 drive, because he don't know how to handle.
Yes, the device will be CLAIMED, but the controller (driver) "can't speak the right language". No workaround unless the one given in the other post.

thx for ur reply again torsten....is this hvd to lvd converter is the only way?
this converter is hooked to the cable or at the back of the tape drive?Currently im using the 68pin to the drive and 50 pin to the server.....What about the stape driver?will it make a diff. if i were to enable it?
this answers is just not going to help me in my work but also and info to me....
