how should cleaning work

hello, i have a DAT72GB internal tape drive and the clean light is blinking. so i inserted the C5709A clearning cartridge and waited.

how long should the cleaning process take or does one need to do something more to initialize the cleaning?

answering my own question: not too long.

appears the cleaning cartridge that was given me was already used more than enough times.
