hp c1537 event 17

im just installed my surestore dat24, for the first time; im using an scsi adapter on my server, and it just wont start, and i received an event log 17,REMOVABLE STORAGE SERVICE, RMS could not manage TAPE0 library, with an unspecified error. the only hint it gives is that the "database" may be damaged, or there is a shortage of system resources, or a miscommunication, but physically everything seems just fine, any clues???
