hp storage works msl 6030 problem

One of the drive head is bad. it comes with ultrum 2. can i replace it with ultrum 3 Pls. help me out.

Hi,

You cannot mix DLT/SDLT and SDLT/LTO on the same device (on MSL).

Ultrium 460 (ultrium 2) and 960 (ultrium 3) are supported on the same device though. You can replace ultrium 2 with ultrium 3 on a MSL6030 library. The support matrix below is a good one and gives you lots of details -
