install error for colorado 2 8GB

I built a new PC with XP Pro w/SP2 and 512 MB Ram with a 2.6 Ghz processor. I installed an internal colorado tape backup 2 8GB. When I installed software version 9.1 I get an error message that reads "insuficient memory." Prior to the install XP does not recognize the tape. Any suggestions! This devise does not share an IDE slot.
