mbx_bar.exe process does not end

Hi,

We currently have an MSL6030 library to back up our exchange 2003 server aswell. We have configured both a full exchange store backup aswell as a full bricklevel backup.

The exchange store job runs fine; the bricklevel job also runs okay but it never finishes. It even unmounts the tape and attempts to close the client connection.

The exchange server is running windows 2003 on 2 DL380 nodes. As soon as we terminate the mbx_bar.exe process on the exchange server the backup job immidiately completes and pops up the 'job complete diagloque'.

Here is the last bit of the log starting with the last mailbox :

We have the exact same problem, after the backup, we have to kill the process for the backup to be complete.
The drive is inanctive/finished.

I have the same issue with one of my Exchange servers.

I am also facing similar issue on one of the exchange 2003 IS backup.

Backup session never gets end.

We have to either kill the bsm.exe or abort the backup session.

We have couple of other exchange servers IS backup and those does not have any issues.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

We've got the same problem, and as a workaround what we do is kill manually mbx_bar.exe at exchange server with task manager. After that it indicates that agent has disconnected and finish. Please, if somebody has a definitive solution, let us know. Kind Regards.

This is what we use every monday after the bricklevel backup aswell. However; until you do so the units will remain occupied. Very annoying.

Has anyone found a solution to this. I am having exactly the same problem but it is intermittent so sometimes gets missed as we are monitoring several Exchange servers.

I have the same problem. It seems single mailbox backup never finished completedly. I have to terminate mbx_bar on the Exchange server. HP, any fix please?

I have the same problem and the "mbx_bar.exe" process take 25% of 4 CPU utilization. When I kill the process the job abord succesfully.
