msl2024 stuck on firmware 1.9

An incorrect firmware update was applied to our msl2024 tape library and it is stuck at firmware version 1.9. How do I get a new update to apply, the USB connection appears to be disabled?

Can you provide any information on what firmware was in the 2024 before and what firmware was applied? The firmware is supposed to validate the firmware download and not accept any incorrect firmware so we should look into this.

You can try using L&TT http://www.hp.com/support/tapetools and see if it can download firmware. If the network interface works firmware can also be downloaded that way.

Without knowing exactly what file was downloaded I don't know what else to suggest right now.
