msl6060 and 960 tape drives

I have an msl6060 library with 2 Ultrium 460 drives installed. I am ready to upgrade to 2 more drives and will probably go with the 960 drives. HOWEVER the drives for the library are WAY out of logical price range when you compare a bare internal 960 drive Q1538A $3119.00 vs AD612B $8400.00. (this is my pricing) This is the EXACT same drive. The only thing extra you get a hot swap cage. $5000 is a WAY overpriced for the cage.

What options do I have?

Can I buy the tape mounting cage by itself? Mine has part number 969092101 stamped on the side. but I cannot find that part anywhere.

For that matter it is cheaper to purchase a new library with 2 Ultrium 960 Drives msl4048 AG323A at $14,319 than it is buy 2 960 drives $8400.00 each for my 6060 library.

What is with that?

I've contact both hp and overland. HP (at least my sales contact) was very understanding of my quandary but couldn't help me. Overland has the part but won't sell it to me.
