no backup device CBII in W2K

In W2K I get the message No backup device found in CBII, with ref.03-15-41-02-0000. I've a colorado 5 GB internal and installed the right drivers from hp.com.
I've already found another call with this error and followed the instructions but can't solve this problem. Suggestions?

Check device manager to see if the drivers are installed correctly.

Download and run the HP tape diagnostic program (tapediag.exe) to see if it yields the same results.
