no compression

I have a C1556A HP Dat24 DDS3 tape drive. I have been unable to get compression enabled under W2K or NT4. Under control panel/tape drives, unit shows up as a C1537A. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Windows OS's only. Have not tried UNIX.

Backup products used were the backup prog that comes standard with W2k, and BackupExec 7.2 for NT.

Re: no compression

Try installing correct driver. Look at this address.

Re: no compression

Already tried that. Still, no bananna. Looking at tape BIOS, adaptec BIOS.

CPU shows only about 16% usage during backup or restore, so it is not starved for resource.

Thanks, though.
