obdr tape drive questions.

Can someone please let me know (in details) how the obdr work? HP Sales person said it would only work/recover the system configuration of just that one w/s or server that the obdr tape drive is on. If so, what will happen to all other servers? Does it mean if other servers crashed, the obdr function cannot be use to restore the systems conf?
