scsi card to external tape library

scsi card to external tape library

Ok so I have the following:
dl380g2
adaptec aha2940u scsi card
tl891 tape library

when I power up the server it sees the 2940 and says bios installed, however it never shows the tape library or drive in the libary.
Also Net Backup cannot find it either so I am thinking that I am either doing something wrong or have to use a scsi card with a hp bios???
any help greatly appreciated.

no special BIOS is needed. Check for bent pins, terminator, HVD vs LVD device or controller, isolate drive and see if it shows up by itself
