surestore dat 40X6

Hello All,
I have a windows 2k server running backupexec using the surestore dat 40X6 autoloader. My backupexec keep saying that the device is offline. I've checked windows and it indicated the device is working. I've tried the HP software to detect that tape device and it says it is not online. It seems to be working to me because I can eject the tapes, no light or error message on the lcd screen or in windows event viewer.
Can anyone give me a clue as to what is wrong with it?

post this message you see in HP software. In addition, install HP LTT from http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg50128.html , generate support ticket and attach to your next reply
