called hp tech support as expected they were of no help and it seemede tech agent could not waittio get me off phone
now have we allnot expierenced that .tnanks hp next time i buy i wil remember your help

Hi Robert.

The t1000e is an external parallel port tape drive. Microsoft discontinued support for parallel port tape drives with the introduction of windows NT 4.0. The tape drive has been obsolete since 1997.
