trying to read DLT40 in DLT80

trying to read DLT40 in DLT80

Hi

i m trying to read tapes of DLT40 in DLT80
and i m getting this error :
tape is write protected !!
i tried to format the tape but it didnt help

i read that DLT80 support reading ( but not writing )

need a help !!!

You've just said it... DLT80 support reading but not writing.

No wonder you're getting "tape is write-protected" :-)

In other words, if it is saying that it is "write-protected", it does not mean you can't read it. It means you can't write on it with a DLT80, just as you said.
