unable to get a scsi_id with HP C1557A

Hi all, I've connected a HP C1557A DDS3 changer behind a Crossroads FC Router. A you can see the system has been recognized by the SLES10SP2 op. system.

46: SCSI 100.2: 10680 Storage Device
[Created at scsi.1502]
UDI: /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/pci_1077_2312_0_scsi_host_scsi_device_lun2_scsi_generic
Unique ID: 5Dky.5gH14fh8kVB
Parent ID: Syq+.Z53pJILHHe5
SysFS ID: /class/scsi_generic/sg13
SysFS BusID: 1:0:0:2
Hardware Class: unknown
Model: "HP C1557A"
Vendor: "HP"
Device: "C1557A"
Revision: "UL01"
Driver: "qla2xxx"
Device File: /dev/sg13
Device Number: char 21:13
Config Status: cfg=no, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown
Attached to: #28 (Fibre Channel)

My problem is that the command "scsi_id -g -x -s /class/scsi_generic/sg13" doesn't give any value back while it works for a modern MSL2024. What have I to do in order to create an scsi_id for that (old) changer?

Thanks and regards
Stephan
