I have an older Quantum 2500XT 5 tape loader and I would like to know if it is possible to interface this loader with the HP vs80 tape drive.

Re: vs 80 with a quantum library
Hi,
That's not possible, both drive and loader are not compatible to utilize in vs80.If i'm correct, dlt2500xt loader comes from dlt2000xt series. See below list drives which is I think are best suited fo your existing drive.
"READ & WRITE format"
-DLT8000 DLTIV,DLTIIIX,DLTIII (any brand and still on the market)
-DLT7000 (any brand/limitted)
-DLT4000 (any brand/retired)
Regards, @@,?
