What type of drives? Only SCSI or via fibre?

Hope this helps!

Hello,

I think this document will be helpful for you

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&objectID=c00659626

On diagram 1, the FC cable will go either to the host or switch, in case you are not using FC at all, diagram #2 shows 2 SCSI cables going out to the host. (So you will need either a dual port HBA or two single port HBAs)

The possition of the SCSI connectors on the drives may change, as shown on the diagrams, keep in mind that the terminators whould be on the drives and not on the library controller, and then just follow the same cabling pattern.

Torsten.

I asked for the drive model, because for some older drives there are 2 per bus allowed. In such case you need only 1 SCSI HBA in the host.

For all newer types the linked document show the only possible connections - always 1 drive per bus.

Hope this helps!

It is LTO-3 Drives on SCSI based tape library. There is no FC NSR.
