which card does surestore lto 2/20 tape support
Hi,
I'm trying to use a smart array 5i HBA to connect to a surestore lto 2/20 tape library. Although I can see the tape when smartarray warm up, it found a tape device 'scsi port 1,scsi id 1', but I did not see it on Debian linux 3.0(2.4 kernel), I modprobed 'st' driver and checked /proc/scsi/scsi and dmesg, no tape device found.
I suspect sa5i does not support externel tape? So which cards are supported for this surestore , or any other points I had missed.
Thx.

Re: which card does surestore lto 2/20 tape support
I would not run tape drives off the SmartArray SCSI busses.
Use a standard add-on SCSI card from Adaptec or other vendor supported by your OS.
Thanks,
Scott
