SN3000B swtich management ethernet port

Hi Team,

I am facing an issue connecting the SN300B swtich management interface to my network switch HP5900.

I am connecting the SN3000B management ethernet interface port to the 1 GB SFP connected on my 5900 swtich.  The ports LED stats on SN3000B does not show any activity, does not glow.
The port status on HP5900 switch show down

Are there any pre-requisites to setup/configure SN3000B swtich? 
What is the speed and duplex supported on SN3000B managment ethernet port?

Any help would be highly appreciated

Hi , 

There is no special settings for the switch ethernet port, these are regular ethernet connetion. 

Below is how the setting would look like : 


root> ifconfig eth0 
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:27:F8:37:DC:1F 
UP BROADCAST RUNNING SLAVE MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 
RX packets:2824156 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 
TX packets:184578 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 

You can try bringing the port down and then bring it up again. 

root> ifconfig eth0 down 

Check the status : 

root> ifconfig eth0 

and then bring the port back again. 

root>fconfig eth0 up 

If you still see the issue after bouncing the port then try rebooting the switch.
