Slow restore with D2D4312/VTL
Running a VEPA backup runs pretty decent, however, performing a restore (in this case, 200gb)
the session will show over 500 gb in kb (and still running - i ran out of patience before writing this post)
why is it DP will show a diff. amount of Total Data being restored, rather than what is pre-allocated on the backup host (mount proxy) - which says 200gb ?
This also leads to another question - the default for a VTL drive is having Hardware compression enabled.
is this the cause of the inaccurate data being showed? and will it also lead to bad performance and dedupe ratio?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Dennis.

Re: Slow restore with D2D4312/VTL
The question about Hardware compression is still open, however, the question about
the amount of Total data DP shows, seems to be correct.
the logs says its skipping the other disks from the virtual machine, however,
the "total data" matches the full backup made last friday.
so even if you from the Vcenter HP plugin select you only want to restore 1 disk (out of 5 in this case)
it actually restores the entire backup (1tb, instead of 200gb)but only makes the selected disk
available ?
