configure FATA disk as virtual tape library

dear sir,
we have SAN storage. can we configure virtual tape library from FATA disk and mount to HPUX server and perform backup to the virtual tape library mounted on HPUX server. should u have any suggestion how to utilise our FATA disk to perform backup and how to configure virtual tape library from HP SAN storage, would appreciate your advice. hope to hear from you. thank you
