ahh ok.
jumbo frames are enabled -> 9k on all nics and vlans.
ping -l 8000 -f works between the storage nodes, the fom and the server nics
the discs are 512B formatted.
i will check the MPIO setup today.

disks could be 512B or 4K, but that you can't really change those values. I"m more talking about raid strip/stripe sizes and the OS disk formatted size (NTFS defaults to 4K, but CSV volumes and other programs require 64K). You can play around with OS level disk cluster size and Raid stripe sizes for years trying to figure out what is best for your environement so you should probably read up on some papers from people like LSI or even HP about how these settings affect performance.

the default stripe size of P410 is way too large depending on firmware version and raid level. too small and you tax the controller too hard. You need to regress stripe size and cache %% ratio to your business needs.
You can restripe online but beware of alignment issues
