Active bond ports reported as suspended - gotcha
Whilst swapping my nics from ALB to LACP and back again, I fell foul of a schoolboy error so here's a note to help others avoid the same issue.
When deleting an existing bond, the load balanced IP is assigned to only one nic. The other interface is set to disabled. When re-creating the bond as LACP, I noticed that one port was reported as suspended by the switch. The CMC 9.5 gui showed both interfaces as active though.
To get both interfaces working again in the LACP bond, I had to enable the interface without an address by setting it to DHCP (even though there is no DHCP service available). After that, I could create the bond and both ports were reported active by the switch.
If my post was useful, clik on my KUDOS! "White Star"
