Add disks to VSA - new raid group, or add disks to existing raid group?

2 server VSA cluster, each server with 4 x300 GB disks. Want to add 4 more disks per host.

It would be great if we could simply add the new disks to the existing raid in each server. Is that possible, or do we need to create a new 4 drive raid 5 array for each?

(server = Dl380 G6 and there are available drive slots in both.

Thnx!

Hi

you can expand the existing raid with a SmartStart CD

I think the raid controller supports it. you will of coarse

have to shutdown the server unless you know how to do

it from ACU command line in the VMware server.

after that you can create a new logical drive

add a new drive to the VSA guest and expand

the VSA from the CMC.In version 11.0 it easy.

good luck
