Change p4300 hostname

Hi,

Can changing a nodes hostname be done on the fly? I don't think any luns have been mapped via the hostnames but rather VIP address.

I had this same question a while ago and yes they can be renamed on the fly. I confimed this with our HP Solutions Architect. We have p4500's but i doubt its any different on the p4300's since they use the same software.

one caviot...  while the CMC shows case specific, the renaming isn't.

 

You can't change a node from NODE1 to node1 .  I found that anoying when I setup one node in caps and the rest lower case... it was just a pet-peeve of mine for a while.
