DSM 9 load balancing trouble
I am having some issues with one of our nodes in the cluster not able to utilize both NICs for communicating the storage. I am looking at the network utilization and one one NIC is actively being used; however, both of them are active. BUT on the other node memeber, both NICs are being utilized.
Has anybody experienced this before?

Re: DSM 9 load balancing trouble
It is the bonding logic which figures out how to manage the 2 slaves(nics) behind the scenes.
I have seen quite a few cases where one nic is being used 2-10 times more than the other.
All with different setups.
As long as there are no Packet drops, you need not worry.

Re: DSM 9 load balancing trouble
This is because of ALB. If you use LACP both nics will be used with the same load. Keep in mind that LACP requires your switches to be configured for LACP.
