Hi All
I am new for HP P4300 SAN starter Kit
we have 3 ESXI on DL380G7, 2 SAN unit, 1 DL360 for VCenter and 2 HP 2510G switchs.
each SAN unit, Each ESXi and VCenter have one cable to each swtich,
SAN using ALB, ESXi nic team with IP Hash, Vcenter Nic team via HP network configration utility.
Failover manager install on ESXi2 and add to CMC
on the CMC best practice summury, all check are green.
but when I switch off one SAN, all VMs are not accessable, cannot RDP, cannot access share files.
Would anyone please help?
very appriciated.
Robert

Re: HP P4300G2 7.2TB failover not working
What do you see inside the CMC? If the FOM is well running you have 2 managers so the volumes must be online...
Are the managers running on the FOM and all storage nodes?
Can you ping the FOM and the surviving node?

Re: HP P4300G2 7.2TB failover not working
Thank you first.
the Volume is online, all node can ping FOM, from CMC best practice summry, all are green ticket.
I have changed the vSwitch setting for storage network, I create 2 VMKernal port on one Storage vSwtich. then I can have 2 storage path when I add SAN to Vmware. that will make failover works. is my setting right?
thanks

SolutionHi,
The thing with the 2 VMkerner ports is for creating multiple active paths and so higher performance... Failover will work also with 1 VMkernel port and 2 physical NICs behind...
Did you follow this document from HP: http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA3-0261ENW.pdf ?
Kr,
Bart

Thanks Bart and Patrick
I have reviewed the document which you provide the link. I have fixed my issue now.
also set load balance to port ID, this fix my another issue, because I lose packet when I ping ESXi server.
thank you for both of you. very appriciated.
