Is it safe to reattach p4000 node to network?

Hi

I have a hp P4000 Lefthand system where one of the storage nodes failed a few weeks ago. (Hardware issue and it won boot at all right now).

The node that failed is a p4500 that is (was) in a 4 node management group.

I found a p4000 machine that failed a few years back and manage to bring it back to life wit parts from p4500 that failed now.

Swapped all disk to the revived machine and it boots.

Now to the question, what will happened when I reattach my Frankenstein machine to the network?

I guess since the MAC-addresses do not match it will not take the old one’s place right away.

Is it ok to do this and what will happened? What is the right way to do this?

As you might guess I have verry little experience with this kind of solution an would appreciate all and any insight.

Re: Is it safe to reattach p4000 node to network?

Hi @Mirevik

Failed node need to redeploy after disk swapping on same network, once complete we will be able to find and add the node in management group (node should be in iscsi network)

Yes the MAC address would be different, we need to rehost the license to the new MAC address

To rehost the license you may conatct hpe licensing team https://myenterpriselicense.hpe.com/cwp-ui/auth/login
