LeftHand Poor performance with the transfer rate

Hi,

I would like to know if this is normal as I am still new to this Storagework thing.

My native language is French so I would like to apologize for any grammar errors.

I have one SVA server

DL320 G5P - windows 2008 R2

2 embedded ethernet ports + one NC365T Quad-port 1 Gb card

2 Switches A and B

HP 2910al-24G

4 Nodes P4500 G2.

2 embedded ethernet ports + one NC365T Quad-port 1 Gb card

Here's the setup.

SVA server has 2 Cat6 cables connected to Switch A and 2 to Swith B

Each Node has 2 Cat6 cables connected to Switch A and 2 to Swith B

All ports in the switches are set to 1000/Full

With CMC on the SVA server I changed all the ports to 1000/full too.

I did not use NIC teaming

I'm using Round Robin.

Now the issue is when I try to transfer from the SVA server an 8 Gig file I only get 60 to 100 Mbps max.

Bonding the the IP does not change the throughput.

Is there anything that I can do ?

Should I upgrade them to 10 Gb?

I am unable to saturate the LAN. goes around 23% usage.

I hope someone can guide me.

Thanks for reading,

Dave

Re: LeftHand Poor performance with the transfer rate

Just to verify, are you getting 100 megabits or 100 megabytes?  Hopefully the latter and that would be about what you'd expect saturating one gigabit link.   I would check your iscsi load balancing settings as it sounds like you are only using one link.

Are you saying you added a NIC card to your P4500's?
