Lefthand scripts for backups in cmc 8.1
Hi
We have recently put up a system for our development department.
I would like to know if anyone have done scripts for backups in hp lefthand cmc via the CLIQ?
I want to set up a schedule to take snapshot's on a volume and then copy it to remote SAN....well something like this.
Day1
1. A snapshot taken on primary volA.
2. Snapshot on primary volA will be copied to the remote backup SAN.
3. Then the primary snapshot for volA will be deleted.
Day2
1. A snapshot taken on primary volB.
2. Snapshot on primary volB will be copied to the remote backup SAN.
3. Then the primary snapshot for volB will be deleted.
Day3
1. A snapshot taken on primary volC.
2. Snapshot on primary volC will be copied to the remote backup SAN.
3. Then the primary snapshot for volC will be deleted.
Day4
1. A snapshot taken on primary volD.
2. Snapshot on primary volD will be copied to the remote backup SAN.
3. Then the primary snapshot for volD will be deleted.
Day5
etc.
And when the 11th volume is done. It starts all over again.
Is this possible to do?
And still only have "incremental" backups for each volume on the remote SAN?
The idea to delete the primary snapshot volume is because we do not have enough diskspace to keep all snapshot's on the primary SAN.
I hope for some tips and idea's.
