Query: Need guidelines for Maintenance on a 2 node StoreVirtual VSA 2014

Hello!

I have a customer who needs to add more DIMMs in a two-node VSA 2014. They will do a tech-refresh after this summer, currently they are far from HA . Thus they need to add extra DIMMs. I will assist them to shutdown the nodes one by one. Am I correct with below order for the tasks ?

Nodenames: vs1, vs2
VSAnames: vsa1, vsa2

1. Shutdown all unnecessary VMs on vs1 except vsa1
2. vMotion all running VMs from vs1 to vs2
3. Power off vsa1 from CMC...wait time set to 5mins
4. Maint Mode and shutdown vs1
5. Add extra DIMMS in vs1
6. Power on vs1
7. Exit Maint mode on vs1
8. Start upp vsa1 from CMC and wait for resync
9. vMotion all VMs to vs1

Follow the same process to shutdown vs2

I think I was spot on.

I should mention vCenter is located outside of the Storevirtual environment.
The single FOM is on a physical server.
So I should be safe I believe... Am I right?

Done without any issues following below task order

1. Shutdown all unnecessary VMs on vs1 except vsa1
2. vMotion all running VMs from vs1 to vs2
3. Power off vsa1 from CMC...wait time set to 5mins
4. Maint Mode and shutdown vs1
5. Add extra DIMMS in vs1
6. Power on vs1
7. Exit Maint mode on vs1
8. Start upp vsa1 from CMC and wait for resync
9. vMotion all VMs to vs1

Follow the same process to shutdown vs2
