It's not about saving some bucks, there are no 6-port NICs on the HCL as fas as I know :(

ah ok.  I didn't realize there actually is a 6port card.

 

why do you need 6 ports?  If you are at capacity with all the available ports, then maybe you should look at 10G, but I'd be amazed if you could actually fill all the available ports throughput with a G2.
