P4500 Ports and Protocols Required Open Ports?

Can anyone state exactly what IP addresses and Ports are in play for Remote copy to work over a VPN?
Do the Client side server IP traverse WAN or just the P4500 Cluster VIP to VIP IP's).

Also, per the LHN/HP P4000 doc "SAn/iQ Remote Copy Networking requirements" as stated below: What exactly does this sentence entail? "The amount of
connections to each storage module dictates the quantity of UDP ports used."

SAN/iQ solutions use both TCP and UDP protocols to communicate between
the storage modules and to the clients initiating volumes. The amount of
connections to each storage module dictates the quantity of UDP ports used.
UDP protocol uses port ranges and must not be restricted. TCP ports 13838,
13840, 13841, and 13843 are used by the management console to manage
SAN/iQ Remote Copy tasks.

I am trying to outline the Ports and Protocols documented requirements for our networking/firewall people.

TCP, UDP 13838, 13841,13843
TCP 13840, 13850,13851
UDP 27491

Please advise.

Please Check SANiQ TCP and UDP Port Usage PDF

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?redirectReason=DocIndexPDF&prodSeriesId=3936136&targetPage=http%3A%2F%2Fbizsupport1.austin.hp.com%2Fbc%2Fdocs%2Fsupport%2FSupportManual%2Fc01750064%2Fc01750064.pdf

It explains in Detail the use of each port.

Hope that Helps.

Re: P4500 Ports and Protocols Required Open Ports?

Please note the information in the original post is derived from HP TCP/UDP documentation.

I had two questions:

1. what IP addresses and Ports are in play for Remote copy to work over a VPN?
2. "The amount of connections to each storage module dictates the quantity of UDP ports used. UDP protocol uses port ranges and must not be restricted". Per HP documentation TCP, UDP ports 13838, 13841,13843;TCP 13840, 13850,13851;
UDP 27491 (Is this all that are required to work over VPW WAN?
