Question on FOM mandatory or not and how many Cluster VIP

Hi we got a HP P4500 G2 28.8TB san. This has 4 nodes with total of 48 disks. Its single site. We plan to create 1 cluster

with all four nodes and use RAID 5 and Network RAID10 so end up with abou 10TB usable. My questions are?

A) Do we need to use a Failover Manager or Virtual Manager too?

B) We will use 3 Managers if that okay.

C) Can we create more than one cluster vip for a single cluster?

Thanks

Ivan

A and B can answered together. The "best" solution is to make all 4 managers, and install the failover manager, don't use the virtual manager. That makes it the most redundant. You could have up to 2 p4500s offline, and the data/quorum will still be available.

In order to have 2 cluster ips, you would need to setup a multisite cluster.
