RAID configuration and speed-LH P4500
LH P4500SAN, 2-node cluster. Have had this running in test mode as configured by vendor's support staff and now want to reconfigure for production use. We do not need high capacity right now, but want max speed for vm use--figuring on adding more nodes later if we need more space. Original configuration was RAID5 yielding a total capacity of 8+tb. Looking for maximum speed (boot from san) we reconfigured this to raid 1+0. Total capacity now shows as 4.91 raw, 2.41TB usable. Is this correct? Will the raid reconfiguration make much difference on speed?
P.S. This thread has been moevd from Storage Area Networks (SAN) (Enterprise) to HP StoreVirtual Storage / LeftHand. - Hp Forum Moderator
