SoreVirtual VSA maintenance
Hello,
we are planning a a maintenance on our StireVirtual VSA infrastructure.
We have 2 VSA appliances splittend on 2 rooms. We ware going to stop 1 room for maintenance.
I plan to stop the VSA on that room, and run only with 1 VSA.
I have 1 risk during this maintenance : is to lost the Quroum share.
My question is : if I stop a VSA appliance, still I need an access to the quorum share ?
Many thanks

Re: SoreVirtual VSA maintenance
in order for the management group to be online you need 51+% of the voting members to be online. Any less and you lose quorum and the system things it is the minority side of a split-brain situation. If you have two systems and one FOM, you need at least one system and the FOM/share to be online in order for the management group to stay online.
executive summary: YES you must have at least one node AND the quorum share online.

Re: SoreVirtual VSA maintenance
If you want to keep working you must have a quorum share.
if not you will not have access to your data.
another possibility is to remove your quorum share and add
a virtual manager then start it on the remaining node.
when you finish your maintenance you can add the quorum share again.
or use a FOM instead.
Regards.
