The HPE StoreVirtual 3200 Storage can't connect to the HP 380G9 via 10GB-T directly

i got a HPE storeVirtual 3200 storage with 10Gb-T, and a HP 380G9 server with 10G-T.

HP 380G9 installed vmware on it.

i connected the store3200 to HP380G9 via 10GB-T directly.

but it failed. the server didn't present any disks.

i connected storeVirtual 3200 to the server with switch.

it works .

i don't know, why i can't connect to the server with cable directly?

how can i do it?

That is not have the Sorevirtual system is configured.

Just so I understand you correctly, are you saying you have a single Host and a single StoreVirtual node?  If so...  WHY?   There is NO benefit to this setup and you will get much better performance if you just use a DAS shelf or internal HDDs for your single host.

I would expect that you SHOULD be able to configure the NIC on the storevirtual to talk to just the one NIC on the Host, but the storevirtual system is not setup to be Multi-homed past having a dedicated management network and my guess is that is why you are finding it isn't working when you try and do a direct connection.
