I added a third storage node to my P4500, it finished restriping the raid. I noticed that the Virtual Manager is turned on. Everything is normal and operating fine. Can I turn this off, if I have the manager running on the three storage nodes?

Solution
Yes you can.
With your actual managers running at each node, your quorum schema is a 2 votes needed for quorum.
Having running the Virtual Manager doesn't provide added security.

If downtime is not an option and security is a must think OpenVMS

Re: Virtual Manager turned on
Hi Mark,
Now that you have three storage nodes, which I assume are all in the same cluster and each running a manager, you no longer need the virtual manager and it should be deleted.
Regards, Mike.

Re: Virtual Manager turned on
Great thanks. I turned it off and will delete the virtual mgr.
