upgrade from 1TB Free License to 4TB and adding new space

Hello!

We are using HP StoreVirtual VSA 1TB Free License on our HP ProLiant DL380 G8 and HP Proliant DL380 G9, now I want to upgarde to 4TB.

We have VMware ESXi 6U2, Cluster two servers, 128GB Memory on both Servers

HP ProLiant DL380 G8:

 HP Smart Array P420i/2G FBWC, 6x 600GB 15K RAID10 (1.56TB)

HP ProLiant DL380G9: 

 HP Smart Array P440ar/2GB FBWC, 6x600GB 15K RAID10

I want to upgrade my license to 4TB and expand and extend my storage and at the same time add new HardDisk to my storage, this is the new hardware that will be add to servers:

HP ProLiant DL380 G8:

  -Buy another HP Smart Array P420i/2G FBWC, 8x 600GB 15K

HP ProLiant DL380G9:

  -Buy SAS Expander 12G, 8x 600GB 15K

I have already create new RAID 10 (2.1TB) Logical Disk in both serve?rs with my new hardware.

So My question is that, what is the best way and the safe way to do this upgrade?

I want to know that:

1- how can I extend old 1TB LUN to 1.8 TB LUN without loosing data?

2- Can I backup my old VSA LUN data and using VMWARE to Increase my old datastore and add the new one (2.1TB) to have one datastore? Is that a good idea? I am looking to have best performance using all 14 Hardisk that we addded to servers.

once you add the new license you will have 60 days trial license install 4TB license
