Questions on QoS for Voice
Hello,
If I setup a new VLAN for the voice, should I still program the Qos for PBX since data and voice are in differenct subnet/vlan?
If yes, how do I program QoS on voice vlan to have priority 6?
Thank you

Re: Questions on QoS for Voice
You would normally configure the end devices to correctly tag the traffic.
"6" is not the IEEE standard CoS setting for voice.

Re: Questions on QoS for Voice
adding the voice keyword to a VLAN does the following:
enables LLDP-MED
sets 802.1p to 6
sets DSCP to EF, and
transmits the Vlan ID to the end device.

Re: Questions on QoS for Voice
I've been wanting to see this spelled out for years!
Thanks!
On a side note, notice HP uses a value of "6" for 802.1p?
As you can see, this is not IEEE-standard-compliant, the correct value should be "5":

I've been hassling HP about this for years...
