Hello,
I have several Procurve 2510-24 switches which are connected to 5304xl.
2510-24 switch right after reboot shows high CPU utilization and very slow response in console and to pings. It can even miss STP BPDUs. Such condition lasts about 30 minutes and then it become normal.
It has latest Q.11.17 firmware.
What can be the cause of such behavior ?

Solution
Hi,
Check the packets that the switch is reaceiving.
Try to remove the switch from the network and boot it up, if it boots normally then you may have a loop or maybe some links are faulty and it's cuasing the switch to hang like that.
And check the fiber link if your are using.
If you can, post the "show tech all" output.
Regards.

Re: 2510-24 high CPU usage after reboot
My test switch now is only connected with one uplink to 5304xl and is receiving very little amount of traffic.
Looks like disabling time synchronization helped.
