Set the ├в edge-port├в value to false for all ports connected to other switches, bridges, and hubs:

CLI: no spanning-tree [ethernet] edge-port

Re: 2524: how disable STP on one port

Technically speaking, you cannot enable/disable STP operation on a per-port basis, as it is a global setting... however the best way to do it is to set a BPDU filter on the port.

This will cause the port to stay locked in forwarding mode and it will also drop all incoming BPDU frames, effectively removing it from participation in spanning tree operations.

Syntax: [no] spanning-tree bpdu-filter
Enables/disables the BPDU filter feature on the specified port(s). The bpdu-filter option forces a port to always stay in the forwarding state and be excluded from standard STP operation.

Nevermind, the 2524 doesn't support BPDU filtering.. so you can't disable STP on one port only.

bpdu-filter only drop incoming bdpu frames?
outgoing frames still sent?

Re: 2524: how disable STP on one port

i have 2510g too. it can do bpdu-filter - so i can move vlan with provider's port to this switch and disable stp on one port, thanks.

ps: but provider do some tuning on its link - and it is stp-compatible now ;)
