2900 based network with slow DHCP response.

G'day all,
I have a network based on procurve 2900s

The core switch has routing enabled and 3 VLANS defined as well as DHCP-relay turned on and the helper address pointing at the DHCP server.

I am seeing errors with some of our client machines where they cannot get an IP address from the dhcp server it just times out.

Form doing packet captures I can see that the DHCP request and dicovers are being forwarded to the DHCP server and it replies with a valid ip address but it seems the reply is delivered too slowly for the device which gives up.

I have disabled spanning tree in an attempt to solve it but I am getting no where, does anyone have any ideas on working out what is wrong?
