3500 series - Core and iSCSI switch?

Hi all,

Would buying a 3500 series switch and use it as a core switch and a iSCSI work? Or should I look into using a dedicated switch for iSCSI traffic?

What are your guys thoughts does anybody use a 3500 switch as Core and iSCSI switches?

Thanks

Hello,

it depends on you traffic. The 3500yl has enough backplane bandwidth to handle iSCSI and core-switch traffic. So I didn't see anything why you shouldn't buy a 3500yl.

Agree about the bandwidth. I'm not sure if the 3500 has a dual power supply (very important if you want this switch as a core)
